International Contribution

Around the time of the Meiji Restoration, Japan was struggling in her transition to a modern era, and changing rapidly as a result of stimulation from overseas and internal revolution movement. As we know, the result was a big change in our country's politics, education, culture, thought, religion, and life style.
However, Japan sometimes tended to be too proud and overconfident, and ultimately dug their own grave. A half-century after that catastrophe, Japan has to look back at these experiences and carefully watch the movement of the world, seeking ways to contribute globally.
Nowadays, with much international exchange and the rapid advancement of the "information era," each countries compete against each other to forge new progress and beginnings.  Owing to the situation of an island, Japan has own problems with which countries on continents never have confronted.
That is also an historical factor in the formation of Japan's distinctive culture, although it has been influenced by countries on continents.
We have to be aware that we are in the midst of an historical transition. Also,we always have to make efforts to look for ways to improve human society,
face problems no matter how difficult they are, and understand and cooperate with one another as humans living on the earth.
Taisho University has been successful in academic exchange and in exchanging students with our neighboring countries, such as Korea and China. From now on, we will expand our circle of exchange not only to Asian countries but also to the countries of all over the world. Furthermore, we will promote international goodwill by learning and cooperating with each other and we will solidify the base of world peace.
