Halloween Jack o’ Lanterns

Hello Everyone,

This Halloween season was a lot of fun at Taisho University.  We made Jack o' Lanterns with the English Communication students for the first time!

First, it's important to have some good tools.

Here you can see gloves, plastic serving spoons, a knife, an exacto cutter and candles.  You should also put some newspaper on the table because it will be easier to clean up later.

 

 

 

 

Next, you should design the face.  There are many kinds of faces that you can make.  Happy, sad, scary…it's your choice!

Then, cut a whole in the top of the pumkin and clean out the inside.

After you clean out the seeds and sticky stuff, you can carve out the eyes, nose and mouth.  I think this is the best part!

 

When you are all finished, put a candle inside and light it when it gets dark outside.  Don't forget to blow out the candle before you go to bed!
